These terms apply to the Android apps Buttonly Translate and Buttonly Remember. By using an app, you accept them. They are short: please read them.

How the apps handle your data is explained in the Privacy Policy.

These terms are written in English and translated. If a translation is unclear or says something different from the English text, the meaning that is more favourable to you applies.

What the apps do

  • Buttonly Translate translates what you say into the language of the person you are talking to and shows how to say it. It translates their answer into your language.
  • Buttonly Remember keeps what you dictate as text records on your phone, answers your questions about them and forgets them when you ask.
  • Both apps work with artificial intelligence (AI). To understand you, they send your voice through our server to Google’s Gemini AI. In Remember, the answers are written by the AI.

Who can use them

The apps are for adults only, 18 years and older.

The price

The apps are free at launch and show no ads. Later we plan to offer a paid subscription. Before that, we will update these terms, and you will see the price in the app and on Google Play before you pay anything. Nothing is charged unless you choose it.

AI can make mistakes

The AI can mishear you, misunderstand you or get things wrong.

  • A translation can be wrong. For important matters, such as at the doctor’s, at the pharmacy or when signing something, check the meaning another way, for example with an interpreter.
  • Remember can mishear a record, miss it or answer wrongly. It answers only from what you have told it and gives no advice. Check important things, such as medicines, doses and appointments, against the original, such as the prescription or the letter, or with your doctor.
  • Do not rely on the apps in an emergency. Call 112.
  • If a translation or an answer is offensive or harmful, report it with the small flag on its card.

No guarantee

  • We do our best, but we provide the apps as they are. We cannot promise that they always work, are always available or have no errors. They need an internet connection and Google’s services.
  • Remember keeps your records only on your phone, in its Google backup if backup is turned on, and in any copy you send yourself. If you lose your phone without a backup, or clear the app’s data, the records are gone. We cannot restore them.
  • We may change an app or stop offering it. If we can, we will announce this in the app or on its Google Play page in advance.
  • The apps are free, and AI can make mistakes (see above). So we are not liable for indirect damage, or for damage caused by slight negligence, that results from a wrong translation or answer, from lost records or from an app not working. We are always liable for damage we cause intentionally or through gross negligence, for death or personal injury, and wherever the law of your country does not allow liability to be limited.

How to stop

You can stop using an app at any time: just uninstall it. There is no account to close and nothing to cancel.

  • Before that, you can save a copy of your records in Remember: say, for example, “Send me all my records”.
  • In Remember, you can also say “I withdraw my consent”. Remember offers you a copy and then erases all your records from the phone.
  • More about deleting your data is in the Privacy Policy.

Changes to these terms

When we change these terms, we update this page and the date at the top. If a change is important, we will also announce it in the apps or on their Google Play pages. If you do not agree with a change, you can stop using the app at any time (how).
